What We Do

The Wisconsin Turfgrass Association (WTA) represents turfgrass management professionals who have a keen interest understanding the important roll turfgrass plays in the quality of everyone’s lives throughout Wisconsin.  Research initiatives include funding student education through four Distinguished Graduate Fellowship endowments and the Sustainability fund, in addition to providing startup funds to hire new turfgrass professors at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  We also provide needed funding for the O.J. Noer Turfgrass Research and Education Facility in Verona, Wisconsin.  Education is provided through conducting the annual Summer Field Day and the Winter Research Day Conference/Webinar.  We also serve as the liaison and industry representative for all turfgrass management professions in Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin – Madison and the public.
